Light model

April 28, 2009 at 15:41 - posted by szabce

OpenGL light model has been added to the iTunnel 3D engine. For example, now it's possible to create a dark stage with shiny gates.

Loving the CopyCat

April 22, 2009 at 17:49 - posted by merci

As many of you have probably already noticed there has been a release of a game which is very much alike our iTunnel 3D. It has almost the same name, except an ’i’ in the beginning. The question of becoming a CopyCat is very interesting from a lot of point of views. Let us share our impression with you. We, the Cloubble Adventure Team first of all would like to impress that, we take it as a compliment, because nobody has ever copied something that he thought was bad.

This whole issue raises lots of questions, which may also be in focus for others (other Game/Application Creators) as well:
1.) whether is there a „CopyCat Industry” existing or not?
2.) is our little CopyCat, an owner of one of these „factories” in the far ex CCCP-Empire (looking at his name it was our first guess) or just a lonesome „enterpreneur”?
3.) how can we, the Cloubble Adventure Team make the most of this „competition”?
4.) this might be a possible „threat” to others as well (if we take the base of marketing - SWOT) in the future, so
a) it means it is really important to think about the „WHEN” issue (when to publish anything about your latest application)
b) what would have happened if the CopyCat would have had come up with a more interesting copy as iTunnel 3D is, or would have had nicer graphics, or it would have released a more complex game etc.
5.) it is interesting to give a thought of the fact that he gave almost the same name of his App, as ours. What pushes a person/team/company into a decision like this? His lack of ideas, lack of marketing, lack of PR, or the fact that we have started to build up followers/evangelists? What was his motivating factor? I would appreciate, if you who are reading our blog, would leave a comment on your impression about this factor.
6.) what will be the reaction of our followers?
