What's in a name?

May 17, 2008 at 16:43 - posted by merci

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
/ Shakespeare: Rome and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2) /

A name is born: Cloubble
But why Cloubble?

The origin of the word is GLOUBBLE. The word GLOUBBLE comes from two words: GLOBAL and BUBBLE. Cloubble has kept its BUBBLE "base", which idea symbolizes those sovereign individuals and those situational paraphrases that will appear on the interface of a mobile device in a bubble. Bubbles turned out being great images in many ways. First of all, bubbles are of all kinds, they are colorful and can be connected. Their size changes, they can grow and shrink. They can find another bubble to merge with. Even three or more bubbles can be connected. So they symbolize those persons, who will participate in our Cloubble World. They look very similar though you cannot find two alike. They represent individuality and life. They can be born and die by the time. One of the characteristics of bubbles (Wikipedia): "Soap bubbles usually last for only a few moments and then burst either on their own or on contact with another object" , this is true to either a situational paraphrase or a person as well. Certainly the word "moment" here is relative, compared to the lifetime of a star, which can live for trillions of years, one persons' life is a moment. This also matches a situation (a paraphrase), which takes for a while and then bursts just like a bubble. "Soap bubbles can help to solve complex mathematical problems of space, as they will always find the smallest surface area between points or edges". Think of Cloubble… Social networks work just like soap bubbles. If two or more bubbles meet then they can be linked together or merge into one.

The first 5 letters of the word Cloubble is CLUOB. CLOUB came from mixing the two words CLUB and CLOUD. CLUB, symbolizes togetherness, which is the base of social networking.

The origin of the word Clubbed (Wikipedia): It is uncertain whether the use of the word "club" originated in its meaning of a knot of people, or from the fact that the members "clubbed" together to pay the expenses of their meetings… A club is an association of people united by a common interest or goal. The service club, for example, exists for voluntary or charitable activities; there are clubs devoted to hobbies and sports, social activities clubs, political and religious clubs, and so forth. Historically, clubs occurred in all ancient states of which we have detailed knowledge. Once people started living together in larger groups, there was need for people with a common interest to be able to associate despite having no ties of kinship. Organizations of the sort have existed for many years, as evidenced by Ancient Greek clubs and associations in Ancient Rome. In Shakespeare's day: Of early clubs the most famous was the Bread Street or Friday Street Club, originated by Sir Walter Raleigh, and meeting at the Mermaid Tavern. William Shakespeare, John Selden, John Donne, John Fletcher and Francis Beaumont were among the members. Another such club, supposedly founded by Ben Jonson, was that which met at the Devil Tavern near Temple Bar, also in London. The oldest English clubs were merely informal periodic gatherings of friends for the purpose of dining or drinking together. The word "club", in the sense of an association to promote good-fellowship and social intercourse, became common in England at the time of Tatler and The Spectator (1709–1712).

CLOUD is the information cloud in which the paraphrases that describe a situation and the individual persons are united. "A cloud is a visible mass of droplets or frozen crystals floating in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth or another planetary body. A cloud is also a visible mass attracted by gravity." (Wikipedia)
